To listen in a dream to the good counsel of someone signifies fearing Allah; to turn away from counsel signifies wretchedness.
To dream of listening to the counsel of an enemy denotes following the desires of Satan and one’s lower self, and indicates treachery and deception.
Counsel given to someone in a dream denotes treachery, fault, and deception.
According to another narration: Counsel given in a dream to a person by his enemy indicates treachery and deception, in accordance with the indication of the verse: “And he swore to them, ‘Indeed, I am among those who wish you well.’” (Sūrat al-Aʿrāf, 7:21.)
To see oneself giving counsel to someone in a dream indicates that one will expend effort in vain upon a matter; to see oneself giving counsel to oneself indicates that one will become involved in matters of which one shall repent.
Ibn Sīrīn: To see oneself receiving counsel from one’s enemy in a dream indicates deception, trickery, scheming, hypocrisy, and arrogance.
