Suretyship

Seeing suretyship in a dream denotes a burden.

To see in a dream that one has stood surety for a friend and has suffered loss on account of this suretyship denotes that one will be ashamed because of a promise made to another. To see in a dream that one has caused loss to a person who stood surety for him, because he failed to discharge the debt he had taken upon himself, is an indication of falling into difficulty because a promise made to him was not fulfilled.

According to another narration: To stand surety for something in a dream is an indication that the dreamer will take that thing upon himself. If the thing for which he stands surety is something good, such as alms to be given by another, a task to be undertaken, or hastening to the aid of a helpless person, it is an indication that the dreamer will assist in a virtuous matter. If the thing for which he stands surety is wine or unlawful property, it is an indication that he will suffer hardship concerning the maintenance of his family, become poor, and incur debt.

Seeing suretyship in a dream denotes a debt to be incurred while awake. Whoever sees in a dream that he has stood surety for someone, it is an indication that he will learn discipline from the person for whom he stood surety. At times, suretyship also denotes regret.

Ibn Sīrīn: Seeing suretyship in a dream indicates assuming responsibility or giving security to a person.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
