Banditry / Waylaying

Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: There are three interpretations of seeing bandits in a dream: 1—War and enmity 2—Speaking falsehood 3—Illness and discord.

Ibn Sirin: A bandit is interpreted as one who cannot come to an agreement with anyone.

To see in a dream that you are engaged in banditry and have acquired a great deal of property signifies that you will become intimate with someone who respects you in proportion to the value of the property you have acquired, and that you will derive benefit from him.

To see in a dream that bandits have gathered around you but are unable to take anything from you signifies that you will fall ill and that your illness will reach a life-threatening degree, but that ultimately, after this state, you will attain relief.

Kirmani: To see a bandit stealing something from you signifies that you will hear a report without foundation.

To see in a dream that, while proceeding along a road, you are attacked and killed by bandits denotes that you will receive bad news.

Jabir al-Maghribi: To see that you have engaged in banditry and forcibly seized the property of someone you know denotes that the person whose property you seized by force will become your enemy and that grave problems will arise between you.

To see in a dream that, although you are a bandit, you steal nothing signifies that you will recover after falling ill.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
