According to Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz, the navel signifies guardianship. To see a navel in a dream signifies that matters with one’s wife and one’s livelihood will be bad.

To see in one’s dream that one’s navel is exceedingly large signifies goodness, joy, and relief in one’s relations and livelihood with one’s wife. Whoever sees that his navel is exceedingly small cannot get along well with his wife.

According to another narration: the navel seen in a dream signifies the dreamer’s mother, father, livelihood by which he subsists, or the artisan whom he has undertaken to support. If a person living in exile sees this dream, it signifies that he will return from the city in which he is staying to his own city.

Whoever sees himself opening his navel with his own hand opens the storehouse or cellar in which he has placed barley and wheat for expenditure, or his purse.
