Biting

The biting of venomous creatures such as a snake or scorpion in a dream signifies hearing evil words and unlawful earnings; biting a person in a dream signifies excessive affection for him or a life that will pass in prosperity; biting someone in a dream sometimes signifies envy and excessive anger.

To see in a dream that one has bitten someone and that blood has issued from the place bitten signifies rancour and hatred from which harm will be suffered; to see oneself bite an animal and tear away a piece of flesh from it signifies gain; to be bitten by an animal in a dream denotes hardship and distress.

To be bitten in a dream indicates that you will confront your enemy and suffer harm from this reckoning.

To see that one has been bitten in a dream means that you will come face to face with an enemy and will be the loser thereby. Whoever is bitten by an important person in his dream will receive a great kindness.

According to Abdulgani Nabulsi: biting and being bitten in a dream are interpreted as repeated deceit and envy. Biting in a dream signifies that the biter greatly loves the one bitten. According to one narration, biting or being bitten in a dream also indicates suffering torment.

Whoever sees in a dream that he has bitten and torn away his own flesh and thrown it upon the ground engages in tale-bearing. To bite one's fingers from the side in a dream signifies enmity and rancour arising from envy; to bite the tip of one's finger signifies regret, and according to one narration, committing oppression. Whoever sees blood issuing from the place bitten has committed a sin.

According to some: whoever sees himself biting himself in a dream will enjoy relief and joy at the beginning of his life, but at its end will be afflicted with an ailment of the eyes and a disease of the heart. According to another narration, biting with the teeth in a dream is deceit.

Some interpreters said that it is rancour and enmity. Others interpreted biting—whether the object bitten be a human being or an animal—as loving that which is bitten to an excessive degree. Biting also signifies toil and hardship.

If a person bites his flesh in a dream and tears it away and casts it aside, this indicates that he is one who stirs up sedition.

If a person sees in a dream that he bites the fingertips of another human being, this indicates that he is irritable and rancorous.

Whoever sees himself biting his own fingers in a dream will feel regret. Blood issuing from the place bitten indicates suffering within sin. Biting also signifies becoming excessively angered.
