Black Color

The black color seen in everything in a dream signifies eminence and wealth. For one who is accustomed to it, wearing black in a dream signifies eminence; but for one who is not accustomed to wearing black, it signifies sorrow and grief.

Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy upon him) used to say: Every black thing seen in a dream is wealth. Accordingly, if a person sees in a dream that he has married a short black woman, her blackness signifies the abundance of her wealth, while her short stature signifies the brevity of her life.

If the black color seen in a dream is lustrous, it signifies the honor and exaltation which the dreamer shall attain from his superior. Some interpreters said that seeing the color black in a dream is not commendable. Blackness of the body signifies eminence. At times, however, the owner of this dream commits a great offense, or that offense is attributed to him. Or he becomes disobedient to his mother and father. If he sees in a dream that only his face has become black, it signifies the dreamer’s lying and his apostasy from his religion.

If a person sees in a dream that a black thing has become white, it signifies that he shall be mentioned by a good name, be purified of sins, and come to faith after disbelief.

Seeing in a dream that only one’s hands are white signifies, for righteous persons, the manifestation of a miracle, victory over their enemies, drawing near to the great, communicating in the language of kings, and the elevation of their renown. The white color appearing upon a black body signifies the emergence of the disease of vitiligo.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
