Abandoning the Ties of Kinship

To fail to fulfil the duty of visiting one’s mother, father, and relatives, and to abandon in a dream the visiting of those kinsfolk whom Allah (Exalted is He) has commanded to be visited, signifies falling into misguidance.

In a dream, not visiting one’s relatives signifies paying tribute. For tribute is a tax levied from the dhimmis. At times, not visiting one’s relatives also signifies becoming wretched and scattered, by reason of the noble Prophetic tradition: “Do not cease visiting one another, and do not turn your backs upon one another.”

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.
