Burial
To see in a dream that one has died and been buried indicates a journey to a distant place.
To be placed in a grave alive in a dream signifies suffering oppression, and sometimes becoming a householder; if earth is thrown over one, it signifies wealth.
To be buried in one’s own house in a dream indicates a child who will carry on one’s work and profession; to see someone buried in one’s own house signifies following that person’s profession and way.
To see a living person burying another living person in a dream is interpreted as deceit; the dead burying the dead is interpreted as the strengthening of relations among relatives.
To emerge from the grave after having been buried signifies saving oneself through repentance; being buried sometimes indicates marriage, a trust, a pledged object, illness, or imprisonment.
Ibn Sîrîn: To see oneself buried after one’s death in a dream indicates that one will undertake a long journey and be left without money. If one sees oneself buried alive and knows the person who buried him, it indicates that this person will attack him, oppress him, imprison him, or wrong him. If he dies in his grave after being buried, it indicates that he may die because of these troubles; if he survives these troubles, it indicates that he will be delivered from fear, imprisonment, or oppression. To see another person take him to the edge of the grave indicates that this person will lead him to death, but that his name will be praised after his death. If the other person places him in a coffin, it indicates that he will move to a new house.
If he fills earth over him, it indicates that he will be overwhelmed with wealth in an amount corresponding to the quantity of earth cast over him. It is said that being buried alive in a dream indicates the loss of spirituality or religious devotion unless one emerges alive. To see oneself emerge from the grave covered with earth and shake off the dust indicates that one’s condition is hopeless or that the likelihood of one’s repentance being accepted is slight. Being buried alive indicates imprisonment, being despised by people, or a severe punishment from which others will take heed. If a learned or wise person is seen buried alive in his own house, or brought out alive, it indicates that one will inherit his knowledge, wisdom, and rank.
The same interpretation applies to seeing a prophet or a righteous person emerge alive from his grave. To be buried after death, after sunrise, at noon, or at sunset indicates that one has been warned concerning doing good and avoiding evil. To be buried alive in a dream is wrong and indicates treachery. It may also indicate marriage, abundance, or peace and tranquility after distress and hardship. To see a dead person burying him alive indicates unpaid debts, or that he will be imprisoned for failing to pay his debts, or that his security will not be accepted. To bury a dead person twice indicates concealing his mistakes.
To see a dead person burying another dead person may indicate unity, the cleansing of hearts, love and friendship among relatives, or imprisonment, marriage, illness, a trust, or standing surety for a loan. To see oneself buried after death in a dream indicates that one must repent; to see oneself walking alive after being buried indicates that one may repent again. Allah knows best.
