To caress someone who is one’s mahram in a dream signifies falling into grief and sorrow; to see oneself being caressed signifies receiving attention and assistance from that person. It is goodness and news that brings peace.
To see oneself caressing one’s spouse and taking pleasure in it signifies that one loves him or her; but if one derives no pleasure from it, it signifies that there will be coldness between them. Whoever sees that he caresses a woman who is unlawful to him has committed an evil and detestable deed.
Whoever sees that he caresses someone in a dream will put that person to the test. Whoever sees that he caresses a man whom he loves will attain joy. To feel lust while caressing someone in a dream is an indication that one’s desire will be fulfilled.
According to Ibn Sirin (may God have mercy upon him) and certain other interpreters, caressing with the hand is an indication that the one who is caressed will receive good and benefit from the one who caresses him.
According to another narration: Whoever sees that he caresses a woman who is unlawful to him commits an evil deed. Whoever sees that he caresses a man whom he loves attains joy. Some interpreters have also said that caressing is an indication that the one who is caressed will suffer evil and treachery from the one who caresses him.
Ibn Sirin: To caress a bird, dog, cat, horse, cow, or the like in a dream indicates being soft-hearted, speaking beautiful words, and possessing the ability to attract people to oneself. To caress someone during the daytime signifies slandering and backbiting him. To caress a woman in a dream indicates becoming an interpreter, or being an idle person who addresses frivolous people, or vanity, or deficiency in one’s profession.
