In Chains

Whoever sees himself bound with chains blasphemes against the blessings of the Exalted Lord. According to one report, his end will be evil.

To bind someone with a chain in a dream means to cause that person to fall into unbelief.

Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz said: This dream is not auspicious.

Whoever sees a chain around his neck will marry an immoral woman. If the chain is of silver, he will suffer hardship because of women. If it is of gold, he will incur harm on account of wealth.

To see a chain made of wood indicates a lesser harm.

A chain of copper, tin, or iron signifies suffering difficulty and falling into loss in trade, real estate, and livelihood.

To see one’s hands bound to one’s neck with a chain denotes miserliness. According to some interpreters, whoever sees his hands chain-bound will fall short in justice.

To see oneself shackled by the neck, dragged, and taken away is interpreted as hypocrisy (duplicity and corruption in religion). In short, being chain-bound is by no means auspicious.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.
