Crowds

To see crowds filling squares and stadiums in a dream signifies riffraff, aimless and heedless masses.

To see oneself in a good position among crowds in a dream signifies rank, authority to rule, and attaining renown; to see a crowd signifies abundant customers for a merchant, and many people seeking prayers from one whose supplications are accepted; a crowd formed by people gathered for the public good or for a virtuous purpose signifies mercy and divine aid, goodness and blessing.

It is interpreted that whoever sees a crowd in a dream will overcome all obstacles in his affairs and live a good life. It indicates that the person will feel distressed on account of a mistake he has committed.

To see that one is among crowds of people and cannot get out from among them is evidence that he will attain great power and prosperity. If one sees in his dream that he finds a way through the crowd and succeeds in withdrawing to one side, this indicates that, if he is a merchant, his profits will increase; if he is a civil servant, he will be promoted; if he is a student, he will pass his class; and if he is a housewife, relations between her and her husband will greatly improve.

According to another narration: If a person sees in a dream that there is a crowd and a crush of people, his rank and sovereignty will become great, and he will attain renown. If that person is a merchant, he will have many customers; and if he is among those whose supplications are accepted, many people will seek his prayers.

Ibn Sirin: To see a gathered crowd, people lined up in rows, or a great number of people suffering in misery in a dream indicates that the person’s power will increase, his station will rise, and he will gain fame and recognition. If a merchant or businessman sees a crowd in a dream, this signifies growth in his business and an increase in the number of his customers. If a preacher sees this in his dream, it signifies that the number of his followers will increase.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, spiritual signs, home and environment, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
