Direction in Which Prayer Is Performed

Whoever sees in a dream that he is performing the prayer, it signifies that he is of corrupt sect and creed, slanders people, and is exceedingly bold in committing sins. For by this state of his, he conforms to the sect and way of the Jews.

If the direction in which the prayer is performed in a dream is toward the southeast, it signifies that he is an innovator occupied with false and vain matters. For the east is the qiblah of the Christians, and worshipping the cross is falsehood. If he has the Ka‘bah behind him, it signifies that he commits acts of disobedience and major sins, or swears falsely, slanders a chaste woman, does not refrain from evil things, and, because he does not preserve rights, abandons Islam and does not observe it. For the Magians have made it easy for themselves to commit every kind of unlawful act.

If a person sees in a dream that he does not know the qiblah, or that he is seeking the qiblah but does not know in which direction it lies, it signifies that he is bewildered in his religion.

Whoever sees himself praying correctly toward the direction of the Ka‘bah, it signifies that his religion is sound. Whoever sees himself, while wearing a white garment, praying in a direction other than the qiblah and reciting the Qur’an correctly and properly, will go on pilgrimage.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
