Cloth Merchant / Draper

Imam Jaʿfar al-Sadiq: To see a cloth merchant in a dream signifies the adornment of this world.

The Author: A cloth merchant signifies a dangerous person. For money is exchanged in return for the garment. Money, however, is interpreted as an evil deed in which there is no good whatsoever. Yet if, after receiving money in return for the garment, one purchases something else in its place, the interpretation may vary according to the goodness or evil of the thing received as its price.

Kirmani: To engage in the cloth trade in a dream and not receive money in return for the garments one has sold signifies that one will suffer harm and grieve; receiving something else instead of money is interpreted as attaining one’s desire.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, financial matters, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
