Famine

To see in a dream that there is famine is a sign that you will fall into straitened circumstances and pass through a difficult period. At the same time, this dream signifies adversity.

To see in a dream that there is famine and that one is suffering hardship in making a living is a sign that one is obtaining good results from the work one performs; if one is engaged in trade, that the goods one sells are in demand; and if one is an official or a laborer, that one’s superiors or employer are pleased with one’s efforts.

According to another narration: To see in a dream that there is famine is a sign that trade will increase and find favor.

Ibn Sīrīn: To see famine in a dream denotes rising prices, difficulty in making a living, and weakness of faith. To see that one has been delivered from famine signifies abundance and blessing.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
