Female Donkey

Sayyid Sulayman and Kirmani said: To ride a female donkey in a dream signifies abundance and blessing. The female donkey becoming pregnant signifies that something desired by the dreamer shall come to pass.

Whoever sees himself going wherever he wishes in a dream, carrying a female donkey upon his back, shall devote all his effort and exertion to his affairs for the sake of his livelihood.

To see in a dream that the female donkey one owns has died signifies that the dreamer’s wife shall die. To see that one has sold his female donkey, dismounted from it, or that his donkey is weak signifies harm, loss, and poverty.

According to some interpreters, seeing a female donkey in a dream is interpreted as a woman of evil character and an ill-mannered servant. Whoever sees that donkey’s milk has been brought to him and that he drinks from it shall be afflicted with illness.

Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz says: Whoever rides a female donkey in his dream shall enter the house of matrimony. Whoever sees that the donkey has borne a mule signifies that he shall have a child through an unlawful union. Whoever sees that the female donkey he owns is clean and strong shall attain that which he hopes for. He shall attain goodness and happiness.

Seeing a black donkey in a dream signifies trade and gain, high stations, and joy. A white donkey signifies esteem, rank, power, blessing, happiness, and ease.

Seeing a green donkey in a dream signifies piety—that is, precedence in religion; a bay donkey signifies a life of comfort, assistance, and victory; a yellow, or dun, donkey signifies misfortune, debt, grief, and sorrow.

Ja‘far al-Sadiq has said that seeing a donkey in a dream is interpreted as follows: good fortune, the fulfillment of what is said, leadership, wealth, a woman, a concubine, strength, esteem, and rank.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
