Fortune-Telling

Dreams of fortune-telling are interpreted in two ways. Whoever sees in his dream that he has his fortune told may embark upon an adventure that will give rise to gossip and rumors. Or his name may become involved in an affair.

To see fortune-telling in a dream is interpreted as pertaining to the future. To see in your dream that you are telling someone’s fortune or that he is telling yours signifies that you will receive a favorable answer from a government office to which you have applied; if you are a student, it signifies that your grades are good; if you are a young maiden, that you will marry; and if you are middle-aged, that your retirement is approaching.

According to Ibn Sirin: whoever sees in his dream that he has his fortune told and that it comes out favorably shall gain victory over his enemies, attain his objective, and have his affairs set right; if the fortune comes out badly, the dream is interpreted contrariwise.

According to another narration: To see fortune-telling and a fortune-teller signifies committing deceit and theft. One must beware, for it may come to pass.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
