Foundation and Wall

To see a foundation in a dream is interpreted as the strength of religion. The stronger the foundation, the stronger his religious faith will be. According to Ibn Sirin (may Allah be pleased with him), a wall is interpreted as the man’s condition in this world.

To see in a dream that one is building a sound and strong wall is a sign that he is a good man in this world. To see oneself demolishing an old wall signifies acquiring wealth or knowledge; if the wall one demolishes is new, it signifies falling into grief and sorrow; and if the wall is thin and weak, it signifies that his condition in this world is poor and that his affairs will go awry.

To see in a dream that one is standing upright upon a wall means that the affairs of the person who sees the dream will not proceed well. To see oneself hanging from a wall is evidence that his condition and wealth have come to an end. Whoever sees that he is raising a wall will elevate someone to a high position or assist the people. Whoever sees that he is demolishing a wall will deprive a man of his occupation and livelihood.

According to Kirmani, whoever sees that he is building a wall or repairing a ruined wall strives to set right the condition of a man whose affairs have become corrupted. To see the wall of a town or a mosque collapsing indicates that one of the notable people of that place will suffer a calamity.

According to Jabir al-Maghribi, to see a wall in a dream is interpreted as a great person. The height of the wall indicates that person’s rank and station. The condition of whoever sees himself demolishing an old wall will improve. The condition of whoever sees himself demolishing a new wall will deteriorate.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq, to see a wall of mud and bricks signifies the improvement of one’s religion; to see oneself building a wall of plaster and adobe signifies the corruption and depravity of one’s intention.

To see in a dream that one is building a wall of stone and plaster indicates that he is a proud person. According to Khalid al-Isfahani, the wall is a great man.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is leaning against a wall will have relied upon a great person. Whoever sees that he is riding upon a wall as one rides a horse will have mounted the world. Whoever sees himself hanging from a wall will lose his honour.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
