Gelding and Horse

According to Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz, seeing a gelding or a horse in a dream is interpreted as a person’s striving and endeavor. Whoever sees the gelding or horse he possesses rolling upon the ground and in the soil shall have his wealth increase and attain a high rank and esteem.

Some have said: The seeing of a gelding and a horse in a dream is interpreted as a wife. Whoever sees that he has bought a gelding or a horse shall marry a woman of great wealth. Whoever sees that he has intercourse with a gelding or a horse shall do good to his wife. Whoever sees that the gelding has intercourse with another animal and that he is unable to prevent it—the wife of such a man shall become immoral.

Whoever sees in a dream that his gelding or horse bites him—his wife shall betray him. Whoever sees that his gelding or horse has been lost—his wife shall have relations with others. Whoever sees that his gelding or horse has died—his wife shall die.

Whoever sees that his gelding or horse has been stolen shall divorce his wife. To see a dog leap upon one’s gelding or horse indicates that someone is pursuing his wife.

To see in a dream that one’s horse or gelding has grown weak indicates the poverty of his wife. According to Kirmani: Whoever sees that he has mounted a beautiful and clean gelding shall attain great goodness, benefit, and felicity.

Dismounting from a gelding, falling from it, and its tail becoming longer or shorter are interpreted, in every kind of occurrence, as a horse is interpreted. According to one report, seeing a gelding and a horse is interpreted as a slave and a servant. For a person accustomed to it to see himself riding a gelding or a horse is an indication that his rank and station have declined.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, emotional life, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
