Hourglass

To see an hourglass in a dream signifies adornment and beauty for a woman; for a man and a woman alike, it signifies each of two partners, two children, or two brothers. It means that you are spending your time on matters from which there will be no benefit whatsoever.

The interpretation of seeing an hourglass in a dream is explained as relating both to good and to evil. For the hourglass consists of two glass globes, one above and one below. Each of these globes is interpreted separately according to different things, such as two children, two brothers, two partners, or mother and father. The events seen by a person in the hourglass of his dream are interpreted according to the form of the dream, with these pairs taken into consideration.

The two lower and upper bulbs of the hourglass signify two children, two brothers, or two partners. The interpretation as good or evil of the thing which a person sees occurring in the hourglass in his dream belongs to the persons mentioned. At times, the hourglass also signifies goodness and beauty for its possessor.

Ibn Sirin: To see an hourglass in a dream indicates the measure of one’s lifespan, the narrowness of time, and remembering one’s appointed death.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of emotional life, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
