Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: There are six interpretations of acting as imam in a dream: 1—Sovereignty

2—A just and equitable sovereign

3—Knowledge

4—Intending to perform a good deed

5—Benefit

6—Security.

To see in a dream that you are leading women in prayer signifies that you will become governor over weak persons; to see an imam descend from the sky and lead a group in prayer signifies that the people residing in that region will receive mercy.

To perform the prayer for a deceased person in a dream signifies attaining command from the judge.

To see in a dream that you are leading a group in prayer although you are not an imam signifies that you will become a person held in esteem among that group, and that they will follow you just as they follow an imam.

To see in a dream that you have omitted any part of the prayer signifies that you will cause people suffering to the extent of what you omitted.

Ibn Sirin: To see in a dream that you are leading the prayer while seated signifies that you will fall ill; to see an imam signifies attaining honour and rank according to the station of the imam you saw.

To go home together with an imam in a dream, or to see that the imam gives you something as a gift, or to eat together with the imam, signifies that you will suffer distress in proportion to that amount.

Jabir al-Maghribi: To see in a dream that you are waging jihad together with the imam means becoming a partner with the imam over a mosque, a village, or a city.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, spiritual signs, home and environment, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
