Malaria

To see malaria in a dream signifies debt, a fine garment, or a bathhouse. To see oneself repeatedly suffering from malaria signifies persisting in sin; to see oneself afflicted with malaria signifies a healthy and long life, abundant wealth, and that people will envy and seek refuge in one; and malaria that causes much trembling signifies laxity in acts of worship. Malaria to the degree of death is a warning to the person on account of a grave sin.

To see in a dream that one has contracted malaria is interpreted as grief and distress. To see oneself delirious during an attack of malaria signifies that one will endure grief and pain to such an extent that it will astonish him.

To see oneself helping someone who has contracted malaria and trying to cure him signifies that one will aid a person who has fallen into distress. To see someone helping one to be delivered from malaria signifies that one will receive assistance and benefit from some quarter; and to see oneself shivering and trembling from cold during malaria signifies that one is attempting to do a task which, in the end, he will be unable to accomplish.

According to another narration: To contract malaria in a dream signifies paying a debt. For malaria is an expiation for sins. At times, malaria signifies intimidation and threat. At times, malaria signifies seeing someone who is cold during the summer and hot and feverish during the winter. At times, malaria signifies being afflicted and distressed by fever, a child, or a partner, and fulfilling one’s promise. For malaria is every believer’s share of the Fire.

To see malaria and a person afflicted with it in a dream is the messenger and admonisher of the Angel of Death, sent by Allahu Ta‘ala to set matters right between them. If a person sees in a dream that he suffers from malaria every day, it signifies that he persists in committing sins; if it occurs every other day, it signifies a sin which will cast him into torment and from which he has repented. If the malaria seizes him for one day, leaves him for two days, and he sees that it seizes him again on the fourth day, it signifies that the person has fallen into torment and is afflicted by a sin of which he repeatedly repents. Malaria that causes excessive trembling signifies taking a matter heavily without embracing it, and hastening toward false things.
