The Month of Dhu’l-Hijjah

A dream seen in the month of Dhu’l-Hijjah, if interpreted as a journey, signifies that the journey will be auspicious. He may set all his affairs in order and depart on a journey. For this month is a very blessed month. The Feast of the Sacrifice falls within this month.

To see in a dream that one is in this month and has slaughtered a sacrificial animal, or has performed the prayer of the Feast of the Sacrifice, signifies that, if he has debts, he will pay them; and if he has vows, it is a warning that he must fulfil them and that he must repent. This month is also interpreted as signifying the departure of eminent rulers from their offices. For the deaths of His Eminence ʿUmar and His Eminence ʿUthmān (may Allah be pleased with him), and of ʿAffān (may Allah be pleased with him), as well as their battles, all took place in this month.

According to another narration: Whoever sees in a dream that he is in the month of Dhu’l-Hijjah, or that he has slaughtered a sacrificial animal, or that he has performed the prayer of the Feast of the Sacrifice, this dream indicates that he will pay his debts, fulfil the vows he has made, repent, and attain guidance after misguidance. At times, this dream also indicates the loss of the learned and the departure of statesmen from their offices.
