Naked

Whoever sees in his dream that he has stripped naked as at birth is an ignorant and unlearned person. Throughout his entire life he remains deprived of knowledge and learning. If he is a morally corrupt person, he is regarded unfavorably by the people. He can never succeed in any of his affairs and lives obscurely among society, remaining like a shadow.

Whoever sees in his dream that he is naked, feels ashamed before the people, and asks for something with which to cover himself from them will be disgraced among the people, and his secret will be understood.

Whoever sees in his dream that he is naked but is not ashamed before the people and does not ask them for anything with which to cover himself will go on pilgrimage.

Whoever sees in his dream that his body is naked but that his private parts are covered will receive pardon and gain superiority. If he is not worthy of this from the standpoint of religion, this dream is not auspicious for him.

According to Jābir al-Maghribī: Whoever is naked as at birth will suffer hardship and distress and will be disgraced before the people. If a woman sees that her private parts are exposed and her body is naked, this signifies her being disgraced among the people, hardship, and sorrow. If the dreamer is a well-known person, this dream causes him no harm. Perhaps, on the contrary, it will be greatly auspicious for him.

To see oneself naked in a place in a dream signifies disgrace.

Whoever sees in his dream that he has removed the garment on his back and remained naked will be afflicted by a deceitful enemy who displays affection toward him.

According to Kirmānī: To see oneself naked in a dream and stripped for a certain matter—if that matter pertains to religion, such as ritual bathing—it signifies goodness and worship. If it pertains to this world, it signifies gaining benefit from the world, but ruin in the Hereafter.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is naked in the marketplace or among a group of people, and that the people are looking at him because his private parts are exposed, while he is ashamed before everyone, this indicates that a blemish he has concealed from everyone and does not wish to be known will be revealed. Whoever sees in a dream that he has stripped naked in a mosque will strip himself of his sins.

According to one account, it also signifies striving in worship and in his religious duties. Whoever is naked and possesses something with which to cover his private parts and some portions of his body will lose a large part of his property. However, he will content himself with enough to subsist.

Whoever sees himself entirely naked, with nothing upon him, yet the people do not look at him, and he himself does not know that his private parts are exposed, if he is ill, he will recover, and if he is sorrowful, he will be delivered. If the dreamer is in debt, he will pay his debt; if he is wealthy, he will lose his property or sell his house or separate from his spouse.

According to one account, this dream signifies repentance and turning toward the Hereafter by departing from this world. According to some, it indicates that he will acquire unlawful wealth and become the cause of others’ backbiting concerning him.

To see oneself running naked in a dream signifies that, despite the many difficulties one encounters, one will continue upon one’s path without losing heart, will persevere, and that those who see one’s determination will appreciate one and take one as an example.

To see another person naked in a dream signifies a rival who performs the same work as you in a similar manner and endeavors to conduct his affairs without resorting to deceit and falsehood.

Ibn Sīrīn: To see oneself naked in a dream may signify the exposure of one’s blemish, purification from sins, or poverty. For the righteous, it signifies piety and purification; for the sinful, it signifies the exposure of his blemish.

Ibn Sīrīn: To see nakedness in a dream signifies the disclosure of secrets or purification.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
