The Nape

To see the nape in a dream; a normal, healthy, and full nape signifies strength, overcoming difficult tasks, and an improvement in one’s financial condition.

What does seeing the nape in a dream mean: The nape seen in a dream, if weak, wounded, or ugly in form, is a portent of debt, disgrace, and fear. Against these conditions, one must always be prepared and at ease.

To have one’s nape shaved in a dream signifies paying one’s debt; to look attentively at someone’s nape signifies seeking that person’s faults.

To see in a dream that there is a boil or wound on one’s nape signifies that one will not perform a task one has undertaken, and that this circumstance will cause one great distress.

To see a bird on one’s nape in a dream: if the bird is a beautiful bird, it signifies goodness and benevolence; if it is a bird of an unwelcome kind, it signifies evil and sin.

To see in one’s dream that an enemy has mounted one’s nape signifies that one will commit a blameworthy deed; to see that the enemy has mounted one’s neck signifies that one will suffer trouble and hardship; to see oneself carrying something upon one’s nape is interpreted as debt.

To carry something resembling gold and silver articles upon one’s nape in a dream signifies that one is carrying the world upon one’s back; if it is something resembling iron or lead, it signifies sin; and to see a serpent leaning upon one’s back signifies that one has not given one’s zakat.

To see in a dream that one’s nape has become thicker signifies an increase in strength and that one will prevail over one’s enemy; according to one account, it also signifies that one will acquire much property. According to another account: To see the neck in a dream signifies property.

To see the hairs cut from the nape scattered upon the ground in a dream signifies the things said behind that person’s back concerning slander, decline, honor, disgrace, or debt.

To see in a dream that the nape is thick and white, or fragrant, or that it is made of something indicating good, such as a clear and shining light or iron, signifies that one will give thanks. If the dreamer is a steward, his rank will be elevated or he will pay his debt.

If one’s nape is seen bent downward in a dream, or if there is a wound, boil, or fetter upon it, this dream signifies that the person will be disgraced, held in contempt, and fearful, and that he will incur debt.

Sometimes the nape seen in a dream signifies that a person will become aware of his faults and defects. If someone sees in a dream that his nape is thick, it signifies that he will exercise patience and endurance regarding that which Allah (Exalted is He) has decreed concerning him.

Whoever sees hair upon his nape in a dream is in debt despite possessing property; if there is no hair upon his nape, it signifies that he has become bankrupt. Whoever sees in a dream that he shaves the hair of his nape will deliver the trust placed in his keeping and pay his debt.

To see someone executed in such a manner that his nape is cut in a dream means that you will witness a very serious crime and that you, too, will be greatly angered with the culprit in this matter.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
