Oils

Daniel (peace be upon him) said: Oil signifies wealth and blessing. According to one narration, it is interpreted as inheritance. Heavy oils such as balsam (pelesenk) and lily oil are interpreted as knowledge and wisdom.

Balsam oil signifies benefit from the eminent.

Jasmine oil signifies benefit; violet oil signifies deriving advantage from agriculturists.

Water-lily and iris oils signify receiving goodness from the eminent.

Ibn Sirin says: Whoever sees in a dream that oil has smeared his body, whatever kind of oil it may be, will fall ill.

Applying oil to the head in a dream without waste signifies health and adornment.

Whoever sees that he has extracted the oil of something will become occupied with an important matter and gain renown for his benevolence.

Jabir al-Maghribi says: Eating oil and anointing oneself without waste signifies adornment and health. If the oil is wasted, the dream is interpreted as sorrow.

According to Ismail al-Ash‘ath, oils other than olive oil are interpreted as sorrow.

Eating olive oil signifies wealth.

Seeing sesame oil signifies goodness and benefit.

Almond oil heralds wealth that will come from a harsh person. According to one narration, it signifies healing and comfort.

Ja‘far al-Sadiq interprets this dream by the following: a beautiful slave-girl, praise, beauty, benefit, good speech, and fine character.

Foul-smelling and spoiled oils signify an immoral wife, a sinful (ungodly) man, and vile speech.

Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz says: Whoever sees in his dream that he has pressed sesame and extracted oil shall attain a lofty rank.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing oils in a dream signifies blessing and adornment.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
