Sayyid Sulayman: To see a darbuka in a dream, to hear its sound, or to play it portends good. For in the Hijaz it is customary to play the darbuka in the pilgrim caravans or on the way to Arafat. In former times, the guards of fortresses would play the darbuka to make known from afar that they were keeping watch and not sleeping in the fortress.
