Seeing in a Dream

Account / Day of Reckoning

Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: There are six interpretations of seeing oneself being called to account on the Day of Resurrection in a dream:

1—A tyrannical ruler

2—Consolation

3—Distress and hardship

4—A bad condition

5—Excessive sorrow

6—Shortness of life.

‘Allamah Majlisi: Seeing that you are reckoning; signifies that you will experience sorrow, incline toward evil deeds, and, because of this, be regarded with disapproval by the people.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing oneself or another person reckoning in a dream signifies trouble and grief. As a result of the evil experiences he has undergone, such a person becomes an example for others and a subject of constant talk.

For instance, when people are speaking with one another, they will say, “If you do such a thing, what befell so-and-so will befall you as well.”

Positive Meaning

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Shadow Meaning

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

Advice

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, emotional life, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
