Seller

To see a seller in a dream, or to see that one has assumed the form of a seller or earns one’s livelihood through the seller’s trade, signifies swearing falsely, abandoning the prayer, giving short measure and weight, consuming usury, and filth. To see a barley seller signifies loving this world and forgetting the Hereafter.

There is no harm in it if, in the dream, he receives money for the thing he has sold or sells it in exchange for something. To see a seller of thread is interpreted as a journey. To see a seller of salt signifies property of silver. To see a seller of precious garments, if he does not receive money for what he sells, signifies a man who observes the trust entrusted to him, is held in esteem, and appears great among the people.

To see a seller of fruit and the like in a dream signifies a person who prefers his worldly life to his religion and has difficulty securing his livelihood. One who sells fragrant herbs signifies grief and weeping, and a person who makes the people weep by reciting the Qur’an.

To see a person who sells birds signifies the herald of that place; and to see a seller of tin signifies one whose occupation is weak.

Ibn Sirin: If a person sees in a dream that he swears falsely or makes false claims in order to market his merchandise, it signifies that he will come to live in falsehood and oppose his own conscience. This includes prejudice, belittling the value of goods, giving short measure in a sale, or amassing benefit from usury. To see a wheat seller in a dream denotes a person who loves this world and does not think of the life of the Hereafter. If a person sees in a dream that he receives money in exchange for his merchandise or squanders the profit he has obtained from a sale, this too is interpreted in the same manner.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
