To see a shadow in a dream signifies valuable people who leave a mark upon life, a sultan and ruler; the shadow seen by a woman signifies her husband; a person’s own shadow signifies his world and his condition; and a shadow in summer is an indication of joy and relief.

To be scorched by the sun in a dream, then come into the shade and sit there, signifies deliverance from sorrow; to feel cold while sitting in the shade, then go into the sun and warm oneself, signifies deliverance from poverty; the shadow of the winter sun denotes happiness and joy that will be short-lived. You have an enemy who wishes to harm you. Be cautious.

What does it mean to see a shadow in a dream: It is interpreted as distress, a dark affair, deceit, and a treacherous enemy.

The interpretation of seeing a shadow in a dream is generally associated with majesty and gravity. To see the shadow of a mountain and be beneath that shadow signifies being under the protection of a statesman.

Whoever sees in a dream that he has entered the shadow of a mountain attains happiness and beneficence. Whoever sees that he has emerged from the shadow loses the work in his possession. The shadow of a mansion or wall indicates that he will be protected by a great man. The shadow of a tree signifies that he will be brought to comfort by a wealthy and generous man.

To see oneself taking refuge beneath the shadow of a tree signifies taking refuge with a good person and receiving favor from him. According to Kirmani, whoever sees that he is sitting in the shade in a ruined place, his appointed time of death has drawn near. The shadow of a tent or an animal indicates that he will receive news from the government and obtain benefit.

According to another narration: To see the shadow of a person in a dream signifies the world, the changing of the world, and the varying conditions of those who dwell in the world. At times, a shadow seen in a dream signifies repentance and guidance, and reflection upon Allah and the universe. However, a shadow seen during dancing signifies consuming people’s property by falsehood, vanity, and an unlawful means, and changing from color to color in matters of religion and the world.

A shadow seen in summer in a dream signifies comfort, benefit, and a person of fame and rank whose protection one will enter. A shadow seen on a winter’s day signifies sorrow, grief, innovation in religion, or inclination toward people who practice innovation. A shadow also signifies a learned man who is a worshipper, an ascetic, and a hafiz.

Whoever sees in a dream that he withdraws from the heat into the shade is delivered from sadness and grief, and it signifies sustenance. The shadow seen by a woman in a dream is her husband. If a woman who has no husband sees in a dream that she withdraws into the shade, she will marry a person who is honorable and wealthy.

Whoever feels the sun’s heat upon his body in a dream and withdraws into the shade will be delivered from sorrow and attain comfort. Whoever sees that he feels cold because he is in the shade, then emerges from it and sits in a sunny place, will be delivered from poverty.

Ibn Sirin: To see a shadow in a dream signifies changes that will befall a person in the life of this world, and his rising or falling in rank. A shadow in a dream also signifies guidance, repentance, true monotheism, and reflection upon the Creator and His creation. If a person sees in a dream that his shadow does not move although he himself is moving, this signifies abolishing the laws, abandoning what is lawful and turning toward what is forbidden, death, becoming motionless, or losing his senses. The same interpretation applies to the disappearance of his shadow beneath the light of the sun, beneath the light of the moon, or in the lights of the night, as well as to the disappearance of its reflection in water or its image upon a shining surface.

To see one’s shadow dancing in a dream signifies lying, deception, stealing people’s property, changing one’s faith according to personal interests, or criticizing the conduct of Allah’s Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Dancing with one’s shadow upon a carpet signifies summoning evil spirits, coming under their influence and uttering their words, and indicates sedition, trial, and evil. To see the sitting posture of the tashahhud / tahiyyat in a dream and to recite the declaration of faith signifies that one’s troubles will be removed and that one will attain one’s goals.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
