Silver Coins

Whoever sees white and beautiful silver coins in his dream will be much loved by those around him. If the coins are blackened and bear images upon them, this is interpreted as war and enmity. Sound silver coins indicate that he will receive news shortly; broken and deficient coins signify false news.

Whoever sees in a dream that silver coins are given to him in a purse or a bundle will keep a secret confided to him. Small silver coins indicate small children. Whoever sees that he has lost a small silver coin will suffer grief because of his small child. If he finds that coin again, his grief will be temporary. If he does not find it, that child will die. Counterfeit coins indicate gossip. Seeing silver coins in one pan of a balance is interpreted as an enemy.

Holding silver coins in the hand in a dream indicates fine speech; broken coins indicate gossip; and large silver coins indicate abundant wealth. Whoever sees that he distributes silver coins in his house among his wife and children, it means that his word prevails among them. Whoever sees that he has accumulated many silver coins, and has a matter before the courts, this indicates that he will lose that lawsuit.

Seeing in a dream that one has a bright and white coin in his hand indicates that he will have a child. Whoever sees that he has found a purse of silver coins will acquire property and a lawful blessing.

According to Jābir al-Maghribī: beautiful and shining silver coins signify ease and enjoyment, superiority over the enemy, and truthfulness; counterfeit and defective silver coins signify corruption and wrongful dealings.

Seeing broken coins in a dream is interpreted as enmity, litigation, and a child of evil character. Silver signifies property. Seeing silver in a dream is more auspicious than seeing gold. Whoever enters a cave and finds silver coins therein will be subjected to slander because of his wife or another woman. Whoever sees that there is some silver money in a vessel will be told of property or of a secret. Whoever sees that he gives silver coins to another person will give that person property or tell him a secret.

Whoever sees in a dream that a silver coin belonging to him has been forcibly taken from his hand, his child will die or be afflicted with a severe illness. Whoever sees that he distributes his own silver coins among others will marry off his child or one of his relatives and send that person from his household. Whoever sees that his purse has been pierced and his coins have spilled out of it will suffer misfortune. Seeing silver coins inside one’s purse signifies one’s own death. Whoever dreams that he is wealthy, possesses many silver coins, and then loses them will find his affairs ruined. His wealth will diminish.

Whoever sees in a dream that, while wishing to purchase something with silver coins, he cannot find his coins where they should be, this indicates that he must set his condition right and strive to perform righteous deeds. Whoever sees that he has minted silver coins in his dream, if his wife is pregnant, she will give birth to a male child; and if he is quarrelling with someone, they will be reconciled.

According to Jaʿfar al-Sādiq, seeing silver coins of full purity is interpreted as follows: truthful speech, a request, office, accumulated property, a faithful friend, a child, a servant, abundant sustenance, and security. Earning money in a dream, if the dreamer is an evil person, is interpreted as beating, imprisonment, and grief.

Broken and worn silver coins are interpreted in three ways: enmity, sorrow and grief, and indifference. According to another narration: silver coins seen in a dream signify a child for one who has a pregnant woman with him. At times silver coins indicate remembrance of God and the recitation of glorification; at times they indicate a painful beating. Silver coins signify speech. If the silver is pure and clean, those coins signify knowledge and fine speech, or the removal of a need, or prayer.

The number of silver coins seen in a dream is the number of good deeds. The breadth of the silver coins is the breadth of the world. If a person sees that he is attached to some of the silver coins, those coins signify the profession he will acquire. If a person sees in a dream that he is owed so many silver coins by another man, this indicates a right and a reward due to him from that man, and testimony that he must give.

Hearing the sound of silver and gold coins in a dream indicates fine speech. Plain silver coins without any engraving upon them are interpreted as speech that constitutes piety for the dreamer. Cut silver coins signify a continual enmity. Seeing in a dream that one receives silver coins is better than seeing that one gives them. Pure and clean silver indicates the purity of the dreamer’s religion and his good dealings with everyone.

The sound made by silver coins scattering in a dream is beautiful and pleasant speech. Seeing a silver coin as a piece of gold indicates the loss of property.

Finding silver coins in a dream signifies gain, benefit, and joy. Low-grade silver signifies treachery, lying, earning one’s livelihood through unlawful property, and committing a major sin. If a person sees that one of his silver coins has been lost or stolen, he will complain concerning his child. Or something that he regards as evil and dislikes will come to him from his child.

Whoever sees in a dream that silver coins have gone out from him never to return, his child or another close relative will die. If a person sees that he has stolen a silver coin and given it as alms, he will relate a word that he has not heard. Silver coins seen in a dream are evidence of evil. Everything upon which a stamp is impressed, and low-grade silver coins, signify evil speech.

If the silver coins seen in a dream are counterfeit, they indicate rancour, deception, separation in word and deed, and goodness in works. Silver coins also indicate imprisonment, beating, and trade. Silver coins signify becoming safe from fear and the abundance of sustenance.

Seeing silver coins mixed with gold in a dream indicates the acceptance of supplication, the fulfilment of needs, and the healing of the sick. The alloy of silver coins signifies base and ugly speech, or a servant devoid of good. At times silver coins are interpreted as the forced fulfilment of a need.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.
