The Sirat

Seeing the Bridge of the Sirat in a dream or walking upon it is a sign of a journey by land and sea. Seeing one’s foot slip while crossing the bridge is a sign that he will undertake a great affair and attain success in it.

Seeing the Bridge of the Sirat in a dream or walking upon it is interpreted as every kind of blessed gain. Seeing oneself fall while crossing the bridge is interpreted as there being people around you who wish to make your foot slip. You must beware of these people greatly.

Seeing oneself standing upright upon the Sirat signifies that one’s crooked affairs will be set right; seeing oneself cross the Sirat signifies being safe from afflictions and accidents; and seeing oneself fall while crossing the Sirat signifies sedition, corruption, and calamity.

According to Kirmani: Whoever sees that he has crossed the Sirat safely enters the path of goodness and deliverance. He who falls while crossing the Sirat will not do auspicious deeds in the work in which he is engaged and will become known among the people as an evil man.

According to Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz: Seeing oneself upon the Sirat signifies being upright in religion; seeing one’s foot slip from the Sirat and, on account of this, weeping signifies that one is heedless of his religion, but that in the end he will be forgiven.

According to Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi: Seeing oneself walking upon the Sirat is evidence that one will journey upon the sea. If his foot slips or he stops at the side of the road, his death is certain. Many interpreters have said that whoever sees himself walking upon the Sirat will acquire knowledge and remain devoted to his religion. If a person who is on the road to the pilgrimage or on any journey sees at that time that he has crossed the Sirat, he will return to his homeland safe and sound.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
