A sound and normal spleen seen in a dream signifies joy and property guarded in safety; a large spleen signifies a person given to fancies, who appears greater than he is. Pain in the spleen indicates misusing one’s worldly possessions and consuming the rights of the members of one’s household.

To see the spleen in a dream is a sign that fortune will smile upon you after hard work and struggles. In a dream, the spleen is interpreted as property. According to one account, it also signifies religion, health, and strength. Everything seen in the spleen as good or evil should be interpreted by comparison with these three things.

According to Ja‘far al-Sadiq: To see in a dream that one has a spleen indicates that property will come into one’s possession. To see oneself remove and cast away one’s spleen indicates that one has spent one’s property lavishly, or that one has, by one’s own hand, fallen into corruption in one’s religion.

To see that one has two spleens in a dream indicates that one’s property has increased twofold. To see the spleen of any animal is likewise interpreted as property. If the animal seen is of a kind whose meat is lawful to eat, it signifies lawful property; otherwise, it signifies unlawful property.

To see one’s spleen sound and secure in a dream indicates that one’s property too is stored in a well-protected place. To see one’s spleen large and swollen indicates that one’s wish will not be fulfilled or that one will fall ill; to see that one’s spleen is painful indicates that one’s own property or that of one of the members of one’s household will pass out of one’s hands.

According to Ibn Sirin: Seeing the spleen is interpreted as a storeroom or depot. To see in a dream that one’s spleen is painful indicates that one’s property is in danger or that there is a possibility of a thief entering one’s storehouse; to see one’s spleen protruding outward indicates that the men one employs will betray one; to see one’s spleen removed by surgery indicates that one’s possessions are in trustworthy hands.

According to another account: Whoever sees in a dream that his spleen is sound will have a sound storehouse in which he keeps his property, and will attain joy. Whoever sees that his spleen is large has an evil desire, and his condition will change, or he will be afflicted with the illness of baseless imaginings. Whoever sees that his spleen is painful misuses the means of livelihood of himself and his family.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing the spleen in a dream indicates accumulated unlawful property or an ugly fortune. The spleen may also represent a person’s family and lineage. The enlargement of the spleen in a dream indicates an increase in property, while its shrinking indicates a decrease in property. Pain in the spleen may indicate that the person will feel remorse on account of ill-gotten earnings.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
