To see straw in a dream signifies abundant property; to see oneself filling one’s house with straw signifies cheapness and abundance. An abundance of straw in a place signifies plenty and prosperity; a straw seller signifies a needle-maker or sustenance to be gained through travel.

To see straw or a hayloft in a dream signifies an easy earning; to fill a hayloft with grass or straw signifies that one shall become wealthy.

The seeing of straw and a hayloft in a dream is a sign of abundance and prosperity. It means that you will succeed in every work to which you apply yourself and will improve your financial condition. Whoever sees straw or a hayloft in a dream shall earn money with ease. To fill a hayloft with grass or straw is interpreted as becoming wealthy.

The interpretation of seeing straw in a dream is that you will succeed in every work you undertake and will also improve your material condition. It is money that will be used for the good of others.

To see straw in a dream, whatever its kind may be, is evidence of goodness, benefit, and the attainment of one’s wish. Whoever sees that there is much straw shall have an increase in property and blessings. Whoever sees that he gives straw to someone gives that person a portion of his property.

To see oneself receiving straw in a dream signifies an increase in property and blessings and the attainment of one’s wish. Straw is interpreted as property, goodness, blessing, abundance, the attainment of one’s desire, and victory. Seeing straw during the threshing season, and especially wheat straw, is exceedingly auspicious.

To see oneself entering a hayloft and seeing that it is one’s own property signifies wealth and the attainment of one’s wish in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever sees in a dream that fire has fallen upon the hayloft and burned it shall have his property taken from him by the government. Or, by suffering a calamity, his property shall leave his hand. Whoever sees himself eating straw in a dream shall become wealthy, even if he is ignorant.

According to Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz: Seeing straw in a dream is interpreted as abundant property. It is related that Mansur once saw in his dream that he was crossing a bridge while riding a donkey laden with two sacks of straw. When he recounted this to the interpreters of that time, they said: “You shall encounter an event, and through it you shall gather the gold of the world.” This dream later came to pass as they had said. According to some interpreters, straw is interpreted as property. Seeing a hayloft is also interpreted as a chest or coffer in which property is stored.

Whoever sees in a dream that he gives straw to an animal strives to put his affairs in order. Whoever sees himself scattering straw here and there distributes his property in useless places. Seeing wheat, barley, and other grain straw is generally interpreted as property. If a person sees that he has much straw, or that there is straw in his house, before his door, or in his neighborhood, he shall attain goodness and benefit in every circumstance.

To see an animal eating straw in a dream signifies that the owner of that animal shall receive goodness; to see straw floating upon water signifies that property shall come into the hands of the owner of the water.

According to another narration: Straw is a sign of abundant property. To see oneself filling one’s house with straw and possessing it signifies cheapness and abundance.

‘Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulusi transmitted the following: It is related that Ibn Sirin (may Allah be pleased with him), while awake, looked upon a heap of straw and said, “Would that I had seen this water straw in a dream as well.” Some interpreters have also said: Let whoever sees straw in a dream prepare a coffer. In a dream, straw is property for its owner. The effect of the straw becomes manifest upon the person who sees the dream. Some have said that straw is property obtained through hardship, for straw is obtained by gathering and threshing it. Whoever sees straw beside him shall attain lawful sustenance and strength.

Whoever sees himself eating straw in a dream consumes the price of straw, or falls into poverty, straitness, and hunger. To put straw in a place where straw is not kept, such as a chest or coffer, signifies poverty, famine, and the destruction of animals whose sustenance is straw. At times, straw signifies giving one’s property as alms. The abundance of straw in a city is evidence of the abundance of vegetation. Wheat straw signifies wheat; bean straw signifies beans; and chickpea straw signifies chickpeas.

Eating straw in a dream is a symbol of abundance and blessing. You will succeed in every work you undertake and will improve your material condition.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing straw in a dream signifies wealth, abundance, and a good harvest for the person who gathers straw and brings it home. Eating straw in a dream signifies poverty and hunger. Putting straw into an unsuitable container, such as a coffer or clothes cupboard, signifies distress and the loss of animal fodder. Straw signifies charitable works. Abundant straw in a dream also signifies a community in which the number of women exceeds the number of men. Wheat straw signifies goodness and trustworthiness.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
