Stringed Instruments

Ibn Sīrīn: Seeing stringed instruments in a dream may signify recovery from illness, or represent a person’s spinal cord, vertebral column, strength, hardness, ruthlessness, state of health, or physical condition. Seeing stringed instruments may signify learning something about human nature or human physiology, or may also represent medicine or astronomy. If an unmarried person sees a stringed instrument in a dream, it may indicate that he will marry. If a married woman sees herself playing a stringed instrument in a dream, it indicates that she will take a child into her lap. Seeing oneself playing a stringed instrument in front of the governor’s house indicates that, if one is qualified, one will lead the people; otherwise, one will fabricate a story.

Seeing a lute or guitar, or intending to touch or hold them, entails no harm, with the exception of hearing their music. Playing or hearing a stringed instrument in a dream signifies lies. Playing one in one’s own house indicates that a calamity will befall that household. It is also said that playing such an instrument signifies gaining fame and becoming a leader.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of general meaning, inner intuition, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concluded in the dream should be evaluated together.
