Sweating

To see in a dream that one is sweating signifies that you shall soon be delivered from certain troubles. This dream also means that you shall attain honour and esteem.

Sweating in a dream is interpreted as a worldly loss. According to Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz, whoever sees himself drenched in sweat shall have his wish fulfilled. Whoever sees sweat flowing from his forehead shall attain his desire through his own labour. To see the sweat of one’s armpits smelling foul signifies adultery or plague.

According to Ibn Sirin, whoever sees sweat flowing from his body shall suffer a loss in his property. If the flowing sweat falls upon the ground, the loss shall be very great. Whoever sweats and sees his garments become wet shall gather wealth for his children and family. Sweat that is white and sweet-smelling signifies lawful wealth, whereas sweat whose colour is corrupted and whose odour is foul signifies unlawful wealth.

According to Kirmani, to see oneself sweating signifies, for one who has a desire, the fulfilment of his affair; for the sick, recovery; for the poor, riches; for the wealthy, trouble and suffering; and for merchants and tradesmen, earnings obtained through toil. There is no harm in seeing sweet-smelling sweat in a dream. Foul-smelling sweat, however, is not interpreted as good.

To see a sick person sweating in a dream signifies that he shall recover. Some have said that sweating signifies life; according to another account, it signifies toil and weariness.

According to Abdulgani al-Nabulsi, to see oneself sweating willingly in a dream signifies recovery for the sick, abundance and relief for one in distress; to sweat under the effect of weariness or illness signifies the death of the sick person, and for a healthy man it signifies laborious service and craft.

Whoever sees sweat emerging and trickling from every part of his body shall lose some of his property. According to some, sweating also signifies weariness. Whoever sees in a dream that another person’s sweat has stained him shall receive good from that man, and some of that man’s property shall come into his hands. Whoever sees himself sweating shall suffer loss. According to some, the sweat of an animal whose flesh is eaten is interpreted as lawful wealth, while the sweat of an animal whose flesh is not eaten is interpreted as unlawful wealth.
