To see theft in a dream indicates that the dreamer will soon enter a troubled and difficult period, and that evil events will befall him during this period. It is an omen that the dreamer’s sustenance will decrease, that he will become poor, and that he will pass through troubled times.

It is feared that thieves will enter the house of one who sees himself committing theft in a dream. At times, theft also signifies the sin that the thief will commit. Therefore, it is said that whoever sees himself committing theft in a dream will commit adultery or speak lies. For the one who commits adultery conceals his deed like a thief.

To commit theft in a dream is interpreted as indicating that the dreamer is upon a wrong path. It indicates that the person who sees the dream will commit certain sins and that the dreamer will incur the imprecations of those around him. If there is an unmarried girl in the dreamer’s house, it is interpreted as meaning that a suitor will soon appear for her and that the girl will marry.

(According to another narration, to see one’s son committing theft in a dream indicates that the dreamer’s son will consume unlawful property, commit evil deeds, and stray from the right path.
