To Slay

In a dream, seeing one person slaying another indicates that the slayer will bring good and benefit to the slain, or that he will oppress him; seeing oneself slaying someone indicates doing him a kindness; and seeing oneself slain indicates longevity.

According to Kirmani: Whoever sees in a dream that he has slain someone will bring good and benefit to that person. Whoever sees a group slaying him unjustly will obtain good and benefit from the greatest of the rulers. Whoever sees himself slaying someone unjustly will become rebellious and oppressive toward his own soul, and Allah will set someone over him.

According to Cabir al-Maghribi: Whoever sees in a dream that he has slain his child, Allah (Exalted is He) will bestow upon him lawful sustenance. According to one report, the dreamer oppresses his child for the sake of wealth and worldly honor. Whoever sees that he has slain someone and that blood is flowing from the slain man’s body will come into possession of wealth. If no blood flows, no wealth will be obtained. Seeing oneself rolling in the blood of the man whom one has slain indicates benefiting from that man’s property; seeing oneself slaying someone and white blood issuing from the slain person indicates the loss of one’s religion; seeing oneself slain but not knowing by whom one was killed indicates being little obedient to the law; and if one knows the slayer, it signifies gaining victory over the enemy.

In a dream, seeing that one has slain someone and that filth is flowing from the slain person’s blood indicates that the slain person will suffer evil at the hands of the slayer. Whoever sees that he has slain someone, but neither knows who he is nor examines him, will gain victory over the enemy and be delivered from sorrow. Whoever sees himself slaying his own soul will be enabled to repent. Whoever sees himself killed by having his neck struck off—if he is a slave, he will be set free and delivered from grief and sorrow; if he is in debt, he will pay his debt and much wealth will come into his hands; and if he knows the man who killed him in this manner, he will receive much good from him. If the slayer is a woman, a eunuch, an immature child, or a beardless youth, it indicates the death of the dreamer.

According to Ibn Sirin: If a woman sees in a dream that she has slain her husband, she will accuse him of a sin with which he has no connection. Whoever sees that he has slain and cooked a small child will be censured for committing the act of sodomy. Seeing that one has slain and cooked a child, and that pieces have been torn from its flesh, signifies that the child’s father will be subjected to oppression.

Seeing in a dream a group of people slaying one another indicates the appearance of innovation among the people; seeing oneself slaying a man and carrying his corpse behind him indicates that one will deserve punishment and suffer loss. According to some, seeing a slayer in a dream, for one who wishes to go on pilgrimage, indicates attaining his desire; and if the dreamer is ill, it indicates recovery. According to one saying, the dream of a slayer signifies affliction and the cessation of blessing.

Seeing in a dream a ruler slaying his subjects by striking off their heads indicates that the populace will be delivered from oppression, attain freedom, and receive goodness and favor from the government.

According to Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi: In a dream, killing indicates committing a sin. Whoever sees himself slaying his own soul will repent of his sins. Whoever sees that he has slain a man commits a grave sin. Whoever sees himself slain will live long and attain abundant goodness. Seeing oneself killing a man without cutting his throat is evidence that the slain person will attain good and benefit. Whoever sees that he has slain a soul will be delivered from sorrow and grief. If a slave sees that his master has slain him, he will be set free. Whoever sees a slayer confessing the sin he committed will attain authority and a station of honor among the people. Whoever sees himself slain in the cause of Allah will become a martyr.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.
