To see a village in a dream is interpreted as exile. Whoever sees himself wandering in a beautiful and charming village in his dream will travel to a distant land. To see oneself leaving the city and arriving at a small village signifies that one will leave a high official post and begin working as a tradesman or engaging in commerce on a small scale. According to some interpreters, seeing a village signifies distress. Whoever sees himself entering a village will fall into hardship. To see oneself leaving the village is interpreted as attaining relief.

According to Ibn Sirin: To see oneself entering a village mosque in a dream is a sign of following the commands of Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He) and of receiving glad tidings of Paradise. To see oneself speaking with the imam of a village signifies that, when he falls into doubt concerning his worship, he will strive to find the right path. Buying bread from the village bakery is a new good fortune.

Whoever sees himself leaving a village and entering a city in a dream will be delivered from distress and attain relief. To see oneself passing through a village and continuing on one’s way signifies that one will attain peace of heart and abundant sustenance. Whoever sees himself among villagers, speaking with them and listening to their troubles, will assist certain people who seek his help with property, money, and words.

According to Kirmani: Whoever sees himself in a village will suffer corruption in his religion; to see oneself moving from a village to a city signifies goodness in religion, deliverance in one’s affairs, freedom from fear, and renewal.

To see oneself leaving a village in a dream is good. To see a village destroyed or carried away by a flood signifies that the notable or ruler of that place will oppress the village. Whoever sees himself entering a village will receive sustenance. To see a village whose animals have been taken away, whose trees have been cut down, or whose crops have been consumed signifies that its people will become poor and their affairs will deteriorate; to see a village rejoicing and flourishing is a sign of abundance. Whoever sees himself residing in a village in his dream will have abundant sustenance and will gain benefit. Whoever sees himself measuring villages will begin an undertaking and succeed in it. To see a village larger than it actually is signifies goodness and an increase of property and blessings.

According to another narration: Seeing a village in a dream is a sign of oppression and destruction. Whoever sees himself entering a prosperous village will quarrel with someone, or will kill that person. Whoever sees himself going from a city to a village will prefer an inferior occupation to a fine one, or will undertake a good deed and afterward repent, thinking that the deed was evil. Alternatively, he will perform a blessed deed that he supposes to be evil, without having grasped the reality of the matter. Whoever sees himself entering a village will begin a good deed.

Whoever sees himself leaving a village in a dream will be delivered from distress and attain ease. If he sees a prosperous village ruined, with its lands and cultivated fields left deserted, this signifies the calamity and affliction that will befall the people of that village. To see a village in a prosperous state is a sign of religious devotion.

To see places that were formerly prosperous is likewise a sign of religious devotion and repentance. At times, a village signifies a dark chamber, innovation, corruption, and withdrawal from society. If a person sees in a dream that a village has been ruined and its inhabitants have dispersed, or that the village has been carried away by a flood or burned, and if that village is known and recognized, then the people of that village will suffer oppression. At times, this dream also signifies things such as locusts, hail, calamity, affliction, and plague.

If a person sees himself leaving a village in a dream, it signifies that his condition is good. Whoever sees himself moving from a village to a city will pass from hardship to ease and from fear to security. Whoever sees himself moving from a city to a village will pass from ease to hardship and from security to fear.

Ibn Sirin: To see a bay or gulf in a dream signifies a safe harbor, a refuge, or returning from a journey.

Seeing a well-constructed village in a dream signifies the piety and righteousness of its people. Seeing old buildings or ruins resettled represents people’s repentance from sin. A village in a dream may also signify oppression, innovations, corruption, disregarding the divine laws, or abandoning the moral standards established by society. A village in a dream may also represent the underground nest or colony of ants, while an anthill represents a village in a dream.

If a village is completely destroyed in a dream by fire, flood, freezing cold, locusts, or epidemic disease, it signifies suffering under the oppression of an unjust ruler or tyrant, or destroying an anthill. Moving from a village to a city in a dream signifies leaving hardships and afflictions behind. Moving from a city to a village is the opposite, and signifies abandoning comfort and security to encounter discomfort and fear.
