Witnesses

Witnesses are interpreted as pertaining to litigation and the court, and to the command that leads to judgment and decision. To see several witnesses in a dream signifies the mercy of the Almighty, justice, and, if one has a lawsuit, attaining victory and prevailing.

To see in a dream that, although two witnesses are required for oneself, only one witness has come signifies that one will begin a task which will be completed only halfway.

To see oneself present in court as a witness in a dream signifies that one has entered the path of Allah; to see someone giving false testimony, or giving testimony that is manifestly false, signifies one’s lower self and speaking ill of another.

To save an innocent person through one’s justice in a dream signifies that one will aid him; to see a lawsuit won through the trickery of a witness signifies that one will render people their due and serve them in doing good.

To see in a dream that one makes Allah (C.C.) a witness signifies that one will bring good and benefit to others; to see another person bearing witness on one’s behalf signifies that one’s aim will be fulfilled; to see others bearing witness against one signifies that one will encounter hardship.

According to Ibn Kesir, seeing a witness in a dream is interpreted as enmity. Whoever sees in a dream that he has brought a witness for something is in litigation with a person. Whoever sees that he is trying to find a witness for something but cannot find one will suffer an outcome against him.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of work and responsibility, emotional life, success and reputation, the emotional tone in the dream and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
