To see the sport of wrestling in a dream signifies disputation; to see oneself wrestling with an animal weaker than oneself signifies that one’s condition is better than that of one’s rivals and peers; wrestling with strong animals such as a lion or tiger signifies weakness of one’s state.

To defeat someone in wrestling in a dream signifies defeat; and defeat signifies overcoming. Being thrown to the ground in wrestling signifies falling ill, but if a sick person sees this dream, it indicates his recovery.

To see oneself wrestling with a sick person and defeating him signifies the death of the sick person; wrestling with a non-Muslim signifies triumph over the enemy; if a woman sees in a dream that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wrestles with her and that our Master throws her to the ground, it signifies the death of that woman’s husband, and that the woman will marry another man.

To see oneself wrestling with an animal and killing it signifies deliverance from a difficulty into which one would otherwise fall; wrestling sometimes signifies strength and muscular power, brute force; to see that there is a wrestling contest in a place signifies liveliness and activity there on account of a fair and the like to be established there, or that a joyful circumstance will come to light.

To see oneself engaged in wrestling with a champion wrestler in a meadow signifies that you will enter into a great struggle in order to resolve certain problems in your business life or within the family; if you win the wrestling match, it is interpreted that you will prevail in this struggle; and if you are defeated, you will lose everything.

Ibn Sirin: To see oneself laid upon the ground and defeated in wrestling indicates that one may lose his property. Nevertheless, the person laid low will ultimately prevail. The winner in a dream is the loser while awake. If there is a witness during the quarrel, the winner in the dream may also be the winner while awake. This may likewise be the case when the winner in the dream is more prepared, or is struggling for the sake of his food.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
