Ablution

As is known, ablution is among the acts of worship that cleanse errors.

To see oneself performing ablution in a dream denotes goodness, joy, and happiness.

Ibn Sirin: To perform ablution in a dream and complete it carefully and without omission indicates that needs will be fulfilled. To see oneself performing ablution a second time, although it is not needed for prayer, denotes an increase in one’s light. To see oneself performing ablution with milk or honey indicates debts. Ablution is an accepted act in all religions; it signifies protection, mercy, divine assurance, and deliverance from torment. To see oneself performing ablution for prayer indicates entering under Allah’s protection against the things one fears. It is related that Almighty Allah said to Moses: “When fear overtakes you, perform ablution.” To wash one’s body in a dream is to prepare for prayer or to cleanse oneself of impurities.

To perform ablution inside a tunnel or to perform a full-body ablution indicates recovering a stolen item; to perform ablution and stand for prayer indicates deliverance from distress and giving thanks to Allah. For a merchant to see himself praying without ablution indicates entering into business without capital; for a laborer to see this indicates that he has no house in which to dwell; and for a ruler to see this indicates that he has no soldiers to protect him. For a sick person to see himself performing ablution while lying down indicates separation from his spouse or close friend; performing ablution inside the house indicates moving to a new house; performing ablution in the street, marketplace, or bathhouse indicates scandal, loss, and imprecation; performing ablution by the seashore or in a suitable place for ablution indicates the removal of fear, sorrow, and distress.

To see oneself performing ablution over the head of a friend indicates becoming his heir; to see one’s friend performing ablution over one’s own head indicates harm or scandal that will come from that friend. Ablution also denotes the dispersal of fears, recovery from illness, repayment of debts, or repentance from sin. Performing ablution with hot water indicates falling ill; wishing to perform ablution but being unable to find suitable means indicates the failure of a project or encountering difficulties.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.

In the interpretation, the themes of emotional life, home and environment, spiritual signs, and inner world and awareness should be evaluated together with the emotional tone in the dream and how the symbol concludes.
