Seeing charcoal in a dream signifies a person held in respect; mineral coal signifies sustenance and wealth. Everything with which a fire is kindled signifies committing sins; coal that has burned and turned to ash signifies a word whose effect has passed and a missed opportunity.

Coal seen in a dream during the winter season signifies wealth. Coal sometimes signifies hardship and distress. It is interpreted that whoever sees coal and a hearth in his dream will gain money and property.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing burning coal in a dream signifies profit to be obtained immediately or a ready order for one’s goods. If one is able to benefit from it in the dream, it signifies easy gains, receiving jewels as a gift, or possessing a type of occupation in which coal must be used. Seeing burning coal in a dream also signifies seeking knowledge and wisdom. Coal likewise represents an evil and dangerous person, or it may signify tainted money, unlawful earnings, or receiving a grant from someone in the government. Burning coal in a dream also signifies a person who suffers hardship and trials unjustly, or whose property has been seized wrongfully.

Consumed or completely burned coal has the same meaning as ashes in a dream and signifies lies and deceit. To possess large pieces of coal while one is in need of small pieces signifies worries, distress, and anxieties in a dream; whereas to possess finely crushed coal while one is in need of large pieces for kindling a fire signifies a decrease in one’s wealth. Seeing coal or charcoal in a dream may also mean an increase or renewal of sexual desires. Seeing coal in winter signifies money in a dream. Fuel for a fire signifies corruption.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
