To see a cow in a dream signifies marriage for a woman and wealth for a man. Whoever sees himself milking a cow will embark upon new ventures and earn abundant money. Drinking milk in a dream also indicates that the condition in which you find yourself will improve.

To see cows with udders full of milk is a sign of abundance and happiness. It signifies a fortunate match and a female relative who is well-intentioned and charitable. Milking a cow means receiving a share of fortune from a female relative or friend. A cow with much milk signifies a wealthy relative.

Whoever sees himself milking a cow and drinking its milk, if he is poor, will become wealthy; and if he is wealthy, his money will increase still further. According to Jābir al-Maghribī, whoever sees in his dream that he has purchased a fat cow will marry a wealthy person. Whoever sees himself milking a cow but not drinking its milk will accumulate property, yet will not spend it.

Whoever sees a cow speaking to him will become wealthy to such a degree that everyone will marvel. Whoever sees cattle coming toward him will have a very auspicious and blessed year. To see cattle turning their backs on him and departing is a sign that the year will not pass well.

To see cattle biting one or striking one with their horns indicates that one’s spouse has betrayed one. To see a cow in a dream signifies lawful property. A fat bovine signifies a wealthy spouse, while a lean one signifies a poor spouse; a white bovine signifies a pious woman, a milch cow signifies one possessed of goodness and benefit; and a horned cow signifies an immoral woman.

Whoever wishes to milk a cow but sees that the animal defends itself with its horns and does not allow itself to be milked, his spouse will be disobedient to him. Whoever sees another milking his cow, and the cow preventing him, will have his wife betray him.

According to al-Sālimī, whoever sees a cow entering his house will receive property from a person of rank in the state. Whoever finds a cow and takes it home will attain goodness. Whoever leads a cow by its halter will marry a woman of good character.

To see oneself riding upon a cow signifies that the dreamer’s wife will die and that he will inherit from her.

According to another narration: Whoever sees himself milking a cow will accumulate property. Whoever finds a cow and takes it home will attain goodness. A cow whose udders are full of milk is an expression of abundance and prosperity.

Ibn Sīrīn: To see a cow in a dream indicates longevity. A black or yellow cow indicates happiness, prosperity, and a fruitful harvest. A white mark upon the face of a cow seen in a dream at the beginning of the year indicates steadfastness. A pied or black-and-white spotted cow has the same meaning, but the latter, when seen in the middle of the year, indicates steadfastness. A fat cow in a dream represents longevity and prosperity. A fat cow may also represent a pious woman. A lean cow represents drought in a dream. To drink cow’s milk or to eat its meat or fat in a dream means attaining prosperity and lawful earnings during that year. If the cow has horns, it indicates a rebellious woman.

If a milch cow allows a person to milk it, this indicates benefit. Otherwise, if the cow does not allow itself to be milked in a dream, it signifies disharmony and disagreement. If a servant sees in his dream that he is milking his master’s cow, this indicates that he will marry his master’s wife after his master dies and will become exceedingly wealthy. If a cow enters one’s house and gores or attacks him in a dream, this indicates losses and distrust toward his own family. To see oneself striking a cow with a stick or biting a cow in a dream means that the cow then represents his sins. If a cow scratches someone in a dream, this indicates illness.

To be attacked by a cow or an ox in a dream may indicate that a great punishment will befall one or that one may be killed within that same year. To see oneself riding a black cow, or to see a cow entering one’s house and tying it to a post, indicates money, good deeds, and the dissipation of one’s worries, grief, loneliness, or distress. A slaughtered cow in a dream represents calamity. If a shipment of yellow cows arrives at the harbor of a city in a dream, this means the spread of plague or unknown diseases.

If a herd of ugly-looking cows enters a city with smoke issuing from their nostrils, and the people in the dream detest their appearance, this indicates a raid, an enemy, or unwanted soldiers taking control of that city. To see oneself riding a cow in a dream indicates that one will inherit from a woman. If one is given a cowhide in a dream, this indicates that he will receive money from a person of authority. On the other hand, to see one’s own cowhide being taken away from him in a dream represents a penalty that he must pay. To see the calf of the Children of Israel in a dream indicates separation, sedition, or murder.

It may also indicate a miraculous event or that a divine sign will manifest in that place. If the person is rebellious toward his mother, he will repent and return to treating her well. If a cow gores him in a dream, this indicates that Allah is not pleased with him.
