Cutting Off

Ibn Sirin: To see in a dream that one’s hand has been cut off signifies negligence in performing the obligatory prayers, or an income sufficient to leave one in need of no one and to spare one the necessity of begging from anyone, or repentance from sin. If in the dream one’s hand and heels are cut off, this indicates corruption in one’s religious life, or abandoning spiritual assemblies, or becoming sterile, or being relieved of the obligation of raising children. To see in a dream that one’s nose or ear has been cut off signifies being punished as the penalty for a crime, falling into poverty, or being unable to receive news from someone. To see in a dream that one’s tongue has been cut off indicates that one’s proof and argument will be invalidated, or that one will be prevented from asking for something.

Whoever sees himself torn into pieces in a dream will undertake long journeys, or the persons represented by those limbs will separate from one another.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.

In the interpretation, the themes of general meaning, inner intuition, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concluded in the dream should be evaluated together.
