To see in a dream that one has been freed from debt and has paid one’s debt is a sign of goodness and heralds auspicious days. This dream indicates that a difficult matter in the affairs of religion or the world will be brought to a successful conclusion with ease. Sometimes, paying the right of the rightful person is a sign of returning from a journey.

Likewise, paying a debt in a dream denotes deliverance from grief and sorrow. To see oneself in a dream as either a debtor or a creditor is an indication that relations with friends will improve or worsen.

To see in a dream that one has paid one’s debt is interpreted as the end of separations.

Lending money in a dream means that one will experience love while material means are constrained. It is an indication that one will find a remedy for the troubles of a poor person and assist people in difficult circumstances.

To grieve over debt in a dream, if the dreamer is indebted, is an indication that he will pay his debts with money coming from an unexpected source.

Ibn Sîrîn: Seeing debt in a dream denotes sin, humiliation, and abasement. To see that one has paid one’s debt indicates being freed from one’s debt, repenting, or doing good to a relative. To see oneself indebted sometimes denotes fear of poverty.

Ibn Sîrîn: Borrowing money in a dream indicates the fulfilment of needs, though it may subsequently signify hardship. Lending money, however, is interpreted as auspicious.

Ibn Sîrîn: Making a promise in a dream means becoming indebted to the other party. If one also sees in a dream that one has fulfilled one’s promise, it denotes one’s true intention, faith, and firm conviction. Making a fine promise in a dream indicates blessing, gain, and long life. Receiving a fine promise from an enemy or rival in a dream indicates evil. Receiving a bad promise from an enemy in a dream indicates good. A promise in a dream is a righteous deed. In wakefulness, the addressee of the promise is, in the dream, the person who made that promise.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
