For a woman to see a deer in a dream signifies very lovable and beautiful offspring; a deer and its fawn signify wealth, deliverance from debt, and marriage for the unmarried. To see that one’s head has become the head of a deer signifies leadership and governance.

To see a deer in a dream is interpreted as a very auspicious dream. If a young man sees it, it signifies that he will embark upon an adventure which will make him happy; if he is an official, he will be promoted; for a young girl, it signifies that her desires will be fulfilled. To hunt a deer in a dream is not considered a favourable sign.

To see a deer wandering about signifies troubles caused by people whom you do not know. Whoever sees that he has caught a deer will solve the problem of someone unknown to him and, by reason of this, will gain good fortune. Whoever sees that he has shot a deer will be greatly grieved by news he receives from afar. Whoever loves or strokes a deer will experience an adventure with someone unknown to him. These are troubles that will be caused by strangers.

According to Abu Sa‘id al-Wa‘iz, seeing a deer in a dream is interpreted as a proud spouse from whom evil will come, or as a beautiful friend who places great confidence in her beauty.

To see that one has caught a deer or that a deer has been given to him signifies that he will marry such a woman or meet such a friend. To see that one has caught a deer and brought it into his house signifies that he has admitted into his home someone who will bring evil into it.

To see and eat deer meat in a dream is interpreted as abundant wealth. According to another narration: The deer seen by women in dreams signifies beautiful offspring, whether male or female. If a person hunts a fawn in a dream, or it is given to him as a gift, or he purchases it, that person will attain sustenance. Or, if he is unmarried, he will marry; or he will have a child; or he will prevail over his debtor.

Whoever sees that he has bought a deer will attain an inheritance and receive much good. If his mother is expecting a child, she will give birth to a male child. Whoever sees that he has brought the deer into his own house will marry off his son. Whoever sees that he has skinned a deer will wrong a well-mannered woman. If a person sees that he has leapt upon a deer, his wife will rebel against him in everything.

Whoever sees that he possesses a deer will possess lawful wealth or marry a free and chaste woman. Seeing a deer in a dream signifies dignity and majesty, vanquishing the enemy and humiliating him. The food and drink of the one who sees this dream will come from lawful wealth. If a person sees that his head is the head of a deer, he will become a governor or a president.

To see a deer wandering in the countryside, the forest, or similar places signifies troubles caused by strangers. Whoever sees that he has caught a deer will settle the problem of a stranger and, through this, gain good fortune. Whoever sees that he has shot a deer will grieve over news that will come from a distant place. Whoever loves or strokes a deer will embark upon an adventure with a stranger.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing a deer in a dream signifies a beautiful, bashful, and gentle woman. To see oneself hunting a deer signifies marrying such a woman or obtaining spoils. To see the deer flee signifies the loss of an opportunity.

It can be read as a sign of easing, receiving support, gaining morale, or a fruitful development.

Underestimating opportunities, succumbing to comfort, or being late may reduce the positive effect.
