Dirham

Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq: Seeing a dirham in a dream is interpreted in twelve ways:

1—A truthful word

2—The fulfillment of a need

3—Guardianship

4—Accumulated wealth

5—A friend

6—A child

7—A companion

8—Abundant blessing

9—Being safe

10—A bondwoman

11—Rank

12—Degree

There are four interpretations of seeing a broken dirham in a dream:

1—An ugly word

2—War and enmity

3—Fetters and prison

4—Dispute.

Ibn Sirin: Seeing a sound dirham in a dream signifies good. A defective or broken dirham signifies an untrue word. Seeing a dirham indicates that you will also earn dirhams, that is, money, in waking life. Seeing few dirhams signifies that you will hear beautiful words or proclaim the word of Divine Unity.

Seeing the reverse side of a black dirham in a dream signifies war and enmity; seeing someone give you a purse or a sack full of dirhams or money signifies that you will consult with that same person concerning a matter, but that you will be wrongly directed.

Seeing in a dream that your dirham has been lost or that someone has stolen it is interpreted as your experiencing sorrow and distress concerning your children.

Seeing that you have lost a small dirham and cannot find it again signifies that the distress upon you will be dispelled; seeing that you have found a dirham or that someone has given you a dirham signifies that you will quarrel with someone.

Kirmani: Seeing that you have a dirham in your hand signifies that you will hear a beautiful word; seeing dirhams in abundance signifies that you will acquire wealth.

Seeing in a dream that you are sharing dirhams with your spouse signifies that a fruitless conversation will take place between you and your spouse; seeing a bundle filled with dirhams in your house signifies that you will acquire as much wealth as the dirhams you saw.

Seeing that you are gathering dirhams in abundance signifies that you will turn people away from the righteous path; seeing a single white dirham in your palm signifies that you will have a child.

Seeing that the dirham in your palm has disappeared signifies that your child will die; seeing that you have found dinars in abundance—gold coins—and dirhams signifies that you will accumulate lawful wealth.

Isma‘il al-Ash‘ath: In interpretation, the black dirham is better than the white dirham. Dirhams that are in a money pouch signify words that you will hear.

A dirham that is beautiful in appearance in a dream signifies the felicity of this world and the Hereafter; an ugly dirham signifies that you will be deprived of the felicity of this world and the Hereafter.

A sound dirham seen in a dream signifies a sound and wise word; a broken dirham signifies that you will become hostile toward someone or fulfill one of your needs; a silver dirham signifies that you will acquire wealth.

With the right perspective, it can signify restoring balance, recovery, and developing a new understanding.

Uncertainty, indecision, or a tendency to take on excessive burden may be observed.

In the interpretation, the themes of success and reputation, work and responsibility, health and body, spiritual signs, the emotional tone in the dream, and how the symbol concludes in the dream should be evaluated together.
