Dirt (Filth)

Seeing filth in a dream is generally interpreted as sorrow. To see oneself wearing soiled garments in a dream indicates that one has committed a great sin. The filth seen in a dream signifies the deficiency of the dreamer’s religious faith in that proportion. To see oneself washing and cleaning the filth upon one’s person or upon the things one uses, in order to remove it, indicates that the dreamer must repent and seek forgiveness.

To see filth upon any of the limbs of one’s body in a dream is interpreted in the following ways: seeing one’s hands dirty or becoming soiled indicates that one has acquired unlawful property; filth upon the feet indicates that one has resorted to wicked ways in order to earn unlawful property; filth upon the body indicates deficiency in worship and religious faith; filth upon the face indicates hypocrisy and sycophancy; filth in the ears indicates that one is unable to hear the word of truth; and rheum and filth in the eyes indicate that one is unable to see the truth and the path of righteousness.

According to another narration: Filth seen upon a person’s garment, body, or hair in a dream is sorrow and grief for its owner. Soiled and rusty garments signify sin. If the filth is related to religion, then, according to the amount of filth and rust seen, it indicates the religious corruption of the dreamer. If the filth and rust are related to the commodities and belongings of this world, it indicates the corruption of the dreamer’s worldly affairs. Whoever sees in a dream that he is cleaning the filth from his ear shall hear a word that will bring him joy and a glad tidings that will come to him.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is eating the filth from his ears approaches men or undertakes an affair that will make him exceedingly angry. To see that there is a great deal of filth in a person’s ear indicates an ugly word that person shall hear. This interpretation applies, however, only if there are no signs of deafness in that person’s ear. If there is deafness in his ear, it indicates sorrow, grief, distress, and illness.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
