To fall from a donkey in a dream signifies experiencing distress; the death of the donkey signifies the deterioration of one’s affairs; donkey meat signifies little wealth, and eating it signifies falling into sorrow on account of one’s possessions.

To purchase a donkey in a dream signifies goodness; the donkey having one blind eye signifies that affairs will proceed badly; its having both eyes blind signifies the loss of wealth.

To see in a dream that one is riding a donkey and that it is braying signifies falling into distress because of the bad morals and conduct of one of the members of one’s household. The donkey falling from a high place signifies death; riding a female donkey signifies marriage for a bachelor; a donkey seller signifies a person who possesses unlawful and dubious earnings.

According to Kirmani: The wild donkey signifies an ignorant and foolish man. Whoever sees himself falling from the wild donkey he was riding will not attain what he desires. Whoever sees himself riding a wild donkey whose eyes are blind will acquire much wealth, or will befriend a good person and receive benefit from him. The skin, bones, and flesh of a wild donkey signify wealth and spoils. Its milk signifies worship. Whoever sees a wild donkey flee from him will follow an evil path.

According to some: To ride a wild donkey in a dream signifies turning from truth to falsehood. Whoever sees himself eating the flesh of a wild donkey or drinking its milk will derive benefit from a good man.

According to another narration: To see a donkey in a dream signifies travel or knowledge. The donkey signifies knowledge without deeds, or a Jew, and things upon which a person sets his feet, such as a bed, rug, and the like. To possess or ride mules and donkeys in a dream signifies being adorned with wealth or children. A female donkey signifies livelihood, a helper, and a woman with abundant offspring.

To hear the braying of a donkey in a dream signifies evil and hardships, and the occurrence of an affliction. The donkey seen in a dream, whether well-fed or lean, signifies a person’s labor and exertion. If the donkey is large, it signifies elevation. If it is beautiful, it signifies beauty for its owner. Some interpreters have also said that the wealth of one whose donkey perishes will be lost, or that his connection with his relatives will be severed, his shop will be destroyed, or he will be expelled from his shop. An unknown donkey signifies an ignorant person, one who is very obstinate, or an unbeliever.

Whoever sees in a dream that he is riding a donkey and that the donkey walks well, this signifies that his work and exertion are good and in accordance with his desire. Whoever eats donkey meat in a dream will attain wealth and greatness.

To see a laden donkey enter the house in a dream signifies a greatness and goodness that will turn toward that person, in proportion to the nature and value of the donkey’s load. Whoever sees his donkey turn into a mule, his livelihood will be obtained through travel.

Whoever sees his donkey turn into a horse in a dream will have his livelihood provided by the state. Whoever sees himself gathering donkey dung will have his wealth increase. Whoever sees that he owns a donkey, ties it, or brings it into his house, Allah the Most High will grant him every good and deliver him from all sorrow and grief.

Whoever sees himself falling from a donkey in a dream will become poor. Whoever falls from another person’s donkey upon which he was riding will experience a severance between himself and his companion, or between himself and someone bearing his companion’s name, or someone resembling him. Whoever sees himself purchase a donkey that is blind in both eyes will possess wealth whose whereabouts he does not know. In interpretation, there is nothing worse than the sound of the donkey. In reality, the donkey signifies a person’s labor, exertion, and portion.

To see a female donkey in a dream signifies a person’s servant woman or his commerce. Whoever sees himself drinking donkey’s milk will suffer a mild illness, or recover from his illness. Whoever sees his female donkey give birth to a male foal will have the doors of livelihood opened to him, and will attain a good name and renown.

If a donkey gives birth to a female foal in a dream, it signifies that the person will be mentioned by an evil name and fall from people’s esteem. Whoever sees that he cannot ride the donkey properly, or is afraid to ride it, will adorn himself with something that does not belong to him. Whoever sees himself riding a donkey foal will be afflicted with sorrow on account of his child or wife.

The perishing or weakness of a donkey in a dream signifies the poverty of its owner. To dismount from a donkey and sell it in a dream signifies poverty. Whoever sees himself slaughtering a donkey in order to eat it will attain abundant sustenance after narrow means of livelihood. Whoever slaughters it for another purpose will have his livelihood become troubled.

Whoever sees that his donkey has many tails in a dream, it signifies the abundance of his sustenance. Whoever sees that he has one or several donkeys will have abundant happiness and goodness.

To see a wild donkey in a dream signifies sin. Whoever sees himself riding a wild donkey and falling backward from it will commit sins after falling from his rank. Seeing a wild donkey become tame signifies goodness; seeing a domesticated donkey as wild signifies harm.

To see oneself turned into a donkey in a dream signifies that a calamity will befall the dreamer. To see oneself riding a wild donkey that obeys him signifies sin. If the donkey does not obey and causes him to fall, or if he sees it kick him with its head or foot, a hardship will befall that person amid sin, sorrow, and fear.

Whoever sees a wild donkey enter his house in a dream, a person of corrupt religion will enter his house. Whoever sees himself bring a wild donkey into his house for the purpose of hunting will have goodness and spoils enter his house. Whoever sees himself riding a wild donkey will incline from truth to falsehood and separate from the congregation of the Muslims. Whoever sees a wild donkey from afar will come into temporary wealth.

It provides early awareness; the person sees risks before they grow and can choose a more solid path.

Neglect, haste, untrustworthy people or uncontrolled behavior can increase the difficulty.
