To see the door of a room in a dream signifies a woman; the door of a house, the master of the house and the servant; and the doors of a street, city, and fortress signify the ruler of that place. An open door signifies sustenance and blessing; opening a closed door, the easing of affairs; closing an open door, difficulty and distress; and entering the house and closing the door signifies protection from sin and rebellion.

To see the door of one’s house made of iron, yet latticed so that the inside can be seen, signifies that the family secrets have become the subject of gossip among the neighbours; and to see the door of one’s house made of something light, such as plywood, so frail that it opens at once when pushed, signifies that the household is suffering hardship in its livelihood.

According to another narration: The door in a dream signifies the person who manages the affairs of that house. Therefore, if one sees some evil befalling the door of the house, that evil belongs to the master of the house. Open doors are doors of sustenance. The doors of houses belong to women. If a person sees in a dream that doors are opened in known or unknown places, the doors of the world will be opened for him and his fortune will arise. If the doors are opened excessively, it signifies that he will be expelled from that house and that it will be ruined. If it is seen that the doors open onto the road, a share will be taken from the worldly gains attained by that person for strangers and for all people, whether or not he has a rightful claim to them.

Sometimes, seeing that one’s door has become detached from its place signifies a change in the character of the household and that they will act contrary to the condition in which they formerly were.

Whoever sees himself emerging from a narrow door into spaciousness in a dream will be delivered from the hardship of livelihood and become safe from grief and fear.

To see that one’s house has two doors in a dream signifies that the wife of the dreamer is a woman who causes corruption. If he sees that the door of his house opens in the opposite direction, this dream signifies hardship that will arise, or that the house will be rendered unusable by being demolished. The ring of the door is in the station of a guard, messenger, and one who causes fear.

To see that one’s door has two rings in a dream signifies that the dreamer owes debts to two persons. If he sees himself cutting off the ring, he will fall into innovation. If he sees the door burning, it signifies the death of his wife and that his livelihood is not suitable to his condition. To enter through an unknown door signifies defeating the enemy. At times, unknown doors signify knowledge, sustenance, and earnings; travel; and the opening of the doors of good and evil for the dreamer. To go out through doors signifies separation.

If the door through which one exits in a dream is beautiful, it signifies separation with goodness; if the door through which one exits is ruined or narrow, it signifies emerging from evil and seeking deliverance for the soul. At times, the door signifies death. If, upon exiting through the door, one encounters spaciousness, greenery, and pleasant fragrances, it signifies that his Hereafter will be good. If one encounters darkness, the carcass of a filthy animal, or fire, it signifies that he will be in torment in the Hereafter.

The opening of a door in a dream signifies the ease of affairs; its closing signifies distress, constriction of livelihood, and the invalidity of means. A door opening toward the sky signifies the acceptance of supplication and abstention from committing sins; and many doors opening toward the sky signify prolonged torment, vengeance, and distress. If there is no rain, it signifies that rain will fall and that lands dried by drought will come to life.

If one sees in a dream that the door of his house is new or that a carpenter has repaired it, he is given glad tidings of health and well-being. Whoever wishes to close his door but cannot close it will encounter a difficulty arising from his wife.

If a person sees in a dream that he enters through a door upon a people, it signifies that he will defeat his enemies and render their proofs void. If a person sees that his door has been removed and another door placed over it, he will sell his house. If a person enters a house and sees himself breaking its door, he will protect himself from disobedience and sin.
